Ingredients

Ham   Country-Style
Cloves   Whole
Brown Sugar    

Method

  1. Thouroughly scrub and rinse Ham
  2. Place in large pot
  3. Completely cover with water
  4. Soak 24 hours
  5. Drain
  6. Cover with cold water
  7. Simmer (not boil) 25 minutes per pound
  8. Drain, preserving cooking water if desired (see note)
  9. Preheat over to 350 °F
  10. Remove all skin
  11. Trim fat
  12. Place whole Cloves in fat side, about 1 inch apart
  13. Sprinkle with brown sugar
  14. Slice thinly
  15. Serve Hot or Cold
  16. Keep refrigerated until all is used

  • Cooking water (from simmering the ham) may be used for cooking vegetables or soups
