Cake ‘n Cheese Cake

Ingredients

Cheese Filling

Cream Cheese 8 oz softened
Sugar 2/3 cup  
Sour Cream 1/2 cup  
Vanilla 1 tsp  
Eggs 2 unbeaten

Cake Base

Flour 1 cup  
Baking Powder 1 tsp  
Salt 1/2 tsp  
Butter 1/2 cup  
Sugar 2/3 cup  
Eggs 2  
Milk 1 Tblsp  
Vanilla 1 tsp  

Sour Cream Topping

Ingredient Amount Notes
Sour Cream 1 cup  
Sugar 2 Tblsp  
Vanilla 1 tsp  

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. Grease and flour 10” pie plate at least 2” deep.

Prepare the Cheese Filling

  1. Cream together 2/3 cup sugar and cream cheese.
  2. Add 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 tsp vanilla.
  3. Blend 2 unbeaten eggs into mix, one at a time.
  4. Beat well and set aside.

Prepare the Cake Base

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt, and set aside.
  2. Cream butter, 2/3 cup sugar, and remaining 2 eggs, one at a time.
  3. Stir in milk and 1 tsp vanilla.
  4. Add dry ingredients to this mix and blend well.

Combine and Bake

  1. Spread batter over bottom and sides of pie plate.
  2. Spoon cheese mixture over batter.
  3. Bake 40-45 minutes.
  4. Make sour cream topping. Mix 1 cup sour cream, 2 Tblsp sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla.
  5. Spread cheese portion with topping.
  6. Bake 5 mins more.
  7. Cool and chill overnight, or at least 4 hours.
