| Baking Powder | 1 tsp | |
| Baking Soda | 1 tsp | |
| Sour Cream | 1 cup | |
| Apples | 2 large |
Method
- Preheat oven to 375 °F.
- Grease and flour 10” tube pan.
- Mix nuts, cinnamon, and ½ cup sugar. Set aside.
- Cream butter with 1 cup sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
- Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture alternately with sour cream.
- Pour half of batter into pan.
- Top with half of nut mixture.
- Peel and slice apples.
- Layer apple slices over nut mix.
- Add remaining batter.
- Top with remaining nut mix.
- Bake 40 minutes.
- Cool for 30 minutes before removing from pan.

- Try dotting cake with butter before putting in oven.
