Ingredients

Cinnamon 2 tsp  
Sugar ½ cup + 1 cup  
Butter ½ cup softened
Eggs 2  
Vanilla 1 tsp  
Flour 2 cups  
Salt ½ tsp  
Baking Powder 1 tsp  
Baking Soda 1 tsp  
Sour Cream 1 cup  
Apples 2 large  

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375 °F.
  2. Grease and flour 10” tube pan.
  3. Mix nuts, cinnamon, and ½ cup sugar. Set aside.
  4. Cream butter with 1 cup sugar.
  5. Add eggs and vanilla.
  6. Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  7. Blend dry ingredients into creamed mixture alternately with sour cream.
  8. Pour half of batter into pan.
  9. Top with half of nut mixture.
  10. Peel and slice apples.
  11. Layer apple slices over nut mix.
  12. Add remaining batter.
  13. Top with remaining nut mix.
  14. Bake 40 minutes.
  15. Cool for 30 minutes before removing from pan.

  • Try dotting cake with butter before putting in oven.
