  1. Beat together eggs and butter
  2. Stir in vinegar and sugar
  3. Boil

  • Add to finely cut cabbage to make the slaw

Modern notes

  • As best I can tell, the first instruction for the eggs is to “plop” them. I interpreted this to mean cracking the egg shells and placing the whites/yolks into a mixing bowl. I omitted this step from my transcription since I think it makes the isntructions more confusing rather than less. – David S
