Soy Sauce | 1/2 cup | |
Sherry | 1/4 cup | |
Garlic | 1 Clove | |
Ginger | 1tbsp | Powdered ginger per original recipe |
Top round steak | Should be a thin rather than thick cut of steak | |

Method
- Crush garlic
- Mix soy sauce, sherry, garlic and ginger to make marinade
- Cut steak into 1” strips
- Marinade steak overnight in refrigerator
- Put steak on bamboo skewers
- Cook over open flames on a grill

Modern Notes
Original recipe says to “Barbeque on hibachi” which I believe is using Hibachi as a genericized trademark for a charcoal briquette grill. I interpret this to mean any flame grill would work, and assume most readers will have a propane rather than charcoal briquette grill. –David S
